This game was played for Tynemouth A against Leam Lane Aces (Board 2). We really needed a win to keep us in contention for winning Division 1 but with both Paul Dargan and Clive Waters missing it certainly wasn't going to be easy.
Expecting to play Graeme Oswald (212), I looked up his games online and saw that he played d4, e4 and c4 which wasn't a lot to go on! Graeme opened with e4 and I decided to return to my old love, the Caro-Kann which I have played for years until more recently I moved to the Petroff.
Towards the end of the game I saw that the team only needed another draw to win the match so opted to offer this rather than risk losing.
